Morning Barbara,

Your new computer? Sounds like Mr. L had a bad day, (or two).
Unless he gets it going, or a replacement comes in today, it sounds as though you might even have a rainy weekend
indoors. At the very least, it will probably be overcast.
Yep, the security on some of these computers is becoming so overdone that it's getting to the point that we're lucky when they will let us use the dang things. I've had this particular computer that I'm using right now for about six months, and after it was about a month old, I had to turn off the Microsoft automatic update system, because it downloaded an update that refused to install correctly, no matter how many times I let it download it and try again. For a while, it tried to drive me crazy with security warnings, but I just turned that warning system off, too. I didn't turn off the Microsoft firewall, but I'm not a big fan of Microsoft firewalls, (and especially their updates), anyway, so I mostly just rely on PC-cillin and WinPatrol to take care of all that stuff.
Mr. L must be a mighty patient man - if someone was stomping around and slamming cabinet doors all day, I think I'd probably be out the door pretty fast, and looking for a more tranquil environment to hang out in.
I don't blame you though - I don't know what I would do if I had to survive very long without a computer, and internet access. I hope you're "back in business" with your computer, ASAP.
Luve,
Galahad
