What did I do --evidently I hit something wrong cus I was XPLORING with all that stuff-listed below SUBJECT topic

Barbara, there's a "Spoiler" button mixed in with all that stuff above the message-composing window, (but it's not available with the "Quick Reply" form).

I posted an example of how to use it, following your post in the other topic that you referred to.
