Shirley just sent me a PM, advising me that her husband Bill passed away in his sleep last night. The news caught me totally off guard, and I'm at a loss for words.
She said to tell everyone not to worry about her. It will probably be a while before she logs on again, but eventually, she'll be back.
I've seen Shirley talk about him in her posts so many times, over the years, that I almost feel as though I knew him personally. I definitely feel her pain. I'm sure she knows that she and Bill are in our thoughts, and in our prayers.
Here's a picture of Bill and Shirley, from a few years ago:
Much love,
Wayne
It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
My heart is breaking for her and her family. After all these years they have been together it will leave a giant hole in her heart. My prayers go out to her and I am so very saddened by her loss.
Love, Maggie

Oh no, I'm at a loss for words too...this is heartbreaking.
Lannie and I had the pleasure of spending an Easter Sunday with Bill and Shirley a couple years ago at their home in Florida.
Shortly after we arrived Bill told me he initially had "strong concerns and reservations" about the arrangements Shirley had made with "total strangers" from the Potty People Support Group to come to their home. Of coarse, we laughed about it later.
They both were so warm and engaging during our visit and I'm grateful for the fond memory of the time we spent together that day.
Wayne, thanks for sharing the news so that Shirley and her family is kept in our prayers in the days to come.
Love,
Mars
"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -- Buddha
Tex,
thanks for letting us know one of our family members is hurting.
Shirley,
Oh my - I'm so sorry
Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you. The picture Tex posted is beautiful of the two of you. It's obvious you had something special.

Shirley, I am very sorry. You are in my prayers and thoughts.
As Tex has mentioned, we have been reading about your husband for so long, that we felt him as part of our big family... And I am really very sad about his loss.
A big hug for you.
I wish I could give it in person.
Take care,
