To show you an example of the mindset that we're up against, consider the information in this article. If Walmart routinely treats it's own "associates", (employees), this way, how much consideration can customers expect from them?

Hi Tex:
That was another interesting article about Wal-Mart and how they treat the employee's that I've read just this week. LOL I was sickened when I read the article about The Shank Family and how in fine print Wal-Mart was allowed to sue the family for monies they received by way of a settlement because of a tragic accident Wal-Mart was awarded compensation from them for insurance paid out from her policy with Wal-Mart.
I'm going to take the $50 gift card and call it good because it at least brings closure for me personally. There is NO WAY that I'm going to put myself out in front of a truck when I should just count my blessings and stay on the curb.
When I spoke to James Perry (an attorney from Bay City, Mi.) he pretty much forewarned me that dealing with Wal-Mart was NOT going to be a pleasant relationship and he was right! He told me that what happened to me was very unfortunate and never should have happened but he also said quite bluntly that it was not a law suet that would bring any high damage compensation for me. Infact he told me that all they would do if I chose to file restitution against them would be to make me relive over and over and over again what happened that day. IOW's I'm not going to win by pressing this issue because as you put it. Wal-Mart doesn't make money by being nice or by giving out gift cards.
I was just really taken back by the store managers behavior towards me. I truly sensed that he made the call to me because he was forced to and I wouldn't be surprised if the call was recorded. He gave me no information that I requested except that the situation was dealt with and what would compensate me and make me and my messy pants go away! Now he didn't say all that at the end but that's what it felt like he should have said. I receive a hell of a lot more compassion from my neighbors puppy and more comfort then I did from this store manager; Shawn/Sean or however he spells his name.
After reading all the post I now know that my idea of someone possibly calling the Caro store was just me grabbing for answers of some kind to this guys rudeness. I have now realized that he must have had "a gun at his head" to get me and my situation covered up and put to rest?"
Which is okay for me, like so many I'll just take me business elsewhere and do as little shopping at Wal-Mart that I neccessarily have to. I do have other choices besides going there.
Thank You for your help and God Bless:

I know a truck driver who went to work for Walmart several years ago. He owned his own truck, but of course, he had to pull their trailers. One day, while his rig was parked at the rear of a store, someone, (apparently another driver trying to back up to the dock), side-swiped the trailer that was hitched to his truck, and damaged one side of it. When he filed a report, (naively assuming that Walmart's insurance would take care of it, since it was their trailer, their parking lot, and probably one of their drivers, who did it), he was told that the damage would have to be deducted from his wages. The next day, he was driving for another company, of course.
About that same time, several local Walmart stores asked me to file the necessary paperwork, to become a vendor for them, (I was selling a lot of Deer Corn through another national chain store, at the time, and Walmart sells a heck of a lot of Deer Corn, each fall, of course). I ignored them, naturally. I may be an ignorant old country boy, but I ain't stupid. LOL.
You're more than welcome,
Tex

I'm satisfied with my gift card and because of everyone's love and support here I would say "I'm quite RICH indeed!"
You are very much aware that I have a powerful support system behind me with David at my side. Always there to give me a boost as well as a hug. I wouldn't trade all the blessings and Guardian Angels that watchover me daily for all the Wal-Mart gift cards in the world.
I never realized until this incident just how cold and impersonal that Wal-Mart truly is. It's so sad that a company so big is so uncaring towards their employee's and their customers. Guess that's why everything they sell is made in China. LOL
Love Ya!
