Sincere Appreciation!

Post by katinchatt »

I just wanted to take a moment to THANK everyone. Honestly, I don't know where I would be, if it wasn't for you. You have no idea how you have motivated me to get on the path of recovery. (little happy tears . . .) The past 2 days I've actually been living my life, 2 football games, a movie in an actual theater, Christmas shopping and a date with hubby! He thanks you too ;)

If I hadn't found you, I'd still be a huge mess, no doubt stuck at home ~ eating all the wrong foods and wondering why I'm so sick. I'm even over being mad at my GI Doc, who needs him! Appoitment with my Primary Doc tomorrow will be promising as well. She's a young MD, still loves her "job" and will be open to learning about how to treat me. At the moment, it really is all about food. I'm also fortunate enough to have a Greenlife & a Publix within 15 min. of my house. My goodness ~ they know how to satisfy any GF diet. I was very pleasantly suprised at all the yummy foods available.
I stated earlier in the week that I backed off the Librax, well I've also backed off of the Pepto & Lomotil. I've tapered to about 1/3 of what I was taking, and I'm doing great. :barbell: (Only 5/6 x day :) Also, a Thank You to who ever posted the link to receive the Medical Emergency card, I applied and received one 2 days later ~ WoW! I pray I'll never need it, but if so I hope it's "respected" no matter the circumstances.

My theory on getting better so fast is first of all you guys, and second of all because I was diagnosed so early. Even if it's a temporary improvement, I'll take it and run with it. I'm already Christmas shopping and baking & freezing goodies. . . just in case I loose a little time somewhere along the way. I realize there are no guarantees, but I guarantee you, I owe my fresh mind, body & spirit to all of you.

Happy, Healthy "early" Holidays to You & Your Family,
Kat

Kat,

Well thank you for such an inspiring post. We all love feedback, and especially "happy" feedback. It's great to see that you're already getting your life back.

That's a great feeling of relief, isn't it. I'll bet you're right about your primary doc - she'll be able to take it from here, and I'll bet she'll be grateful to learn how you've controlled your MC, since once she's armed with that knowledge, she'll be able to successfully treat it, too, even if the GI docs around there, can't.

Hopefully, you won't have any significant setbacks, but even if that should happen, at least now you know how to handle it, since you've already enjoyed the sweet taste of victory.

Happy and healthy "early" holiday wishes to you and yours, too, (I believe I can safely say that this is the earliest I've ever used that phrase. LOL).

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

 That's absolutely wonderful news. You are pretty darn speedy. I'm so very happy for you.
