We have Tin!!!!

Post by annie oakley »

This weekend we had a cousin, a son, an uncle and a BIL plus mike show up and begin putting up tim on the barn at 7:30 am Sat morning. I made everyone Biscuits and sausage gravey for breakfast. :chef: We had BBQ at arond 1:00pm and then they finished the barn around 4:30 pm. What is left to do is the big door, a walk thru door for the apt, the flooring. the rest of the apt. I know there's alot left to do, but without all those wonderful family members helping saturday, we wouldn't be this far.
Mike was so happy that he nearly danced a jig in the middle of the barn. Just thought I would let you all know there is still great kidness and love out there alive and well. Love Oma :manynanas:
May I be more compassionate and loving than yeterday*and be able to spot the idiots in advance

Hi Oma,

It's good to see that tradition is still alive in some areas. I can remember when that was a common event around here, when neighbors and relatives would get together to put up a barn, or even a house, but I rarely see it happening, any more - everyone seems to be too busy, these days.

It sounds like that crew had a pretty good day - they accomplished a lot.

Love,
Tex

Morning Oma,

Well I am so very happy for you and aren't family and friends the greatest! Around my area, Lancaster, PA, barn raising by the Amish is something that is still constantly done and it is an amazing event to watch. You don't have that far to go to the finish line and good luck to you and yours.

Love, Maggie
