I May Be Missing For A Few Days

Post by tex »

Hi All,

If everything falls into place, I may be leaving in an hour or so to go to Florida to pick up a truck. This trip will take 4 or 5 days, and I may take a laptop along, but I don't know if I will have the time to actually use it, since I will be driving most of the time, and might have to sleep a little, once in a while.

I hope everyone has an above-par week, and I'll see you when I get back. If anything urgent comes up, I may get a chance to check my e-mail at night, or you can call me, if you want. Many of you know how to find my cell phone number in the hidden "Member Contact" room.

Shirley,

I'm going with a mechanic, (just to be on the safe side), and we're taking his pickup truck, (so we will have tools, if we need them), so I don't know if I'll have any opportunity to get together or not. If it looks like I might, as I get closer, I'll give you a call.

Take care.

Love,
Tex

Thanks everyone,

 It looks as though I was a bit hasty. It took so long to get a response this morning, from a broker who was a middleman on the deal, that we decided to wait and get an earlier start tomorrow morning. Soooooo, I'll still be around until a while tonight.

Sorry for the false alarm.

Tex, Hope you have a sucessful trip and the tools stay in the box. Although breakdowns make for a "memorable" trip, they are never beneficial on our stress levels.

Hotrod,

I hear you. Four years ago, I, (we), went to Tennessee to pick up a truck, which I knew had some "issues", and I was sure glad that I had a mechanic with me, because the truck quit me, just before midnight, in the middle of nowhere, in Arkansas. LOL. It took us about two hours to remedy the problem, and get it going again, but after that, I was afraid to stop somewhere for the night, so other than stopping for fuel, (as I'm sure you know, it's safe to leave a diesel engine running while refueling), I drove it straight home after that. I arrived home about an hour after sunup, on that trip. I hope to observe better hours, this time.

Tex,
May your trip go smoothly and be UNeventful for both you and the mechanic. That is just perfect though, taking a mechanic. Also, I'm glad you have someone to travel with.

If it works out OK - call me - if not - maybe something will another time.

So good to hear from you. I had just searched "Barbara" and new your post came up. I haven't even read it, yet.

I was trying to find a post that I made regarding a web site that talked about loss of taste and smell and a supplement that might help. I have too many posts and I can't find it, yet.

Have a safe trip, Tex. I hope all is well with the truck. You're smart to bring a mechanic.

Barbara,
I've missed reading your posts. I hope we hear from you again soon.
