Noticed a problem

Post by JoAnn »

Hi Tex, JoAnn, again (I was deleted) I don't know if this really matters, but I noticed as I scrolled down the postings, my name is attached to a posting on Sun., Dec. 7,
topic: New here but not to colitis. It is signed by Ren. This isn't me. Just thought I'd let you know. JoAnn

Hi JoAnn,

Thanks for pointing that out. Ren is/was lovecats9. That happened because originally, Ren registered before you did, and after both your registrations were deleted, you re-registered first, so you now have her posts linked to your profile, and vice versa, except that her posts are unavailable, since she is not currently registered. IOW, none of the posts were deleted, they still have the original ID numbers, but her former ID number now belongs to you, so your user name is associated with her posts, (or it was, until I changed it, just a few minutes ago). I corrected the database to reflect the change in user IDs, between the two of you, but until she re-registers, her posts are not viewable. If she doesn't re-register as the next in line, then I'll have to make some changes to the database again, or the next registrant will "inherit" her posts and topics.

I think I have the database straightened out, except that I believe that you had some additional posts in this thread, that I haven't located, yet. If I can find them, I'll link them to this topic, also. Do you happen to remember how many posts you had written, before this happened? Did you post any new topics, other than this one?

I apologize for this hassle - this is the first time we've lost any data in four and a half years of operation, and I hope it will be the last time, but maybe we've just been lucky. The larger a board grows, the more likely it is to become a target for hackers.

Thanks for your patience.

OK, I "think" I've located all of your old posts for that topic, and corrected the links. If you see anything missing, or incorrect, please let me know.

Thanks,
