Disapointed a bit with Times Square

Post by barbaranoela »

I sat--with Xcitment--waiting to see that crystal ball shimmer down--but TV crewmen didnt give it justice----
OH well there is always next year---

Imagine those people standing in Times Square for -at least-12 hours waiting to greet the New Year---which we all hope will bring peace among all~~~

I have to admit that I was so lazy that I was just sitting around, working on some computer code, and didn't even notice when the new year officially arrived - looks like it arrived anyway, though.

I can't imagine standing around in the cold for that long, just to make it "official". Either those folks are really dedicated, (though I'm not sure what they might be dedicated to), or they have a lot of free time on their hands, and can't think of a good way to spend it. Were all the bars closed?

Barbara,
I felt the same as you. They showed the Jonas Brothers, Dick Clark, Ryan Seacrest, and lots of people in the crowd but hardly showed the new crystal ball at all. I found this on Youtube that shows the ball on display before it was mounted and it is gorgeous.

I was disappointed too but the people we were staying with made the whole evening more fun. So enjoyed the Ting Tings though.
