Yesterday -17*.... Today a Heat Wave +21* :)

Post by jodibelle352 »

Goodmorning All!

OMG! What a change here in Michigan! The temperature is ACTUALLY +21* this morning! Can anyone spell RELIEF?

Do not have our youngest grandchild today as Mommy has today off so Puppa and Gramma get today off. Or NOT? As we will be busy getting ready for our youngest grandson; Dylan to visit with us for the weekend. We haven't seen him in over a month though we've been able to chat with him on the phone. Dylan is 12 and we are looking forward to his mini visit for the weekend.

We have truly been blessed. We have 4 grandchildren; Erica 20, Brett 17, Dylan 12 and Bailey 4. For anyone who has grandchildren knows these young blessings grow up sooooooo very fast. David and I have been very fortunate to watch each and everyone of them grow up but because of their age differences we've been able to spend one on one time with each and everyone of them while they were young without having to single anyone of them out.

It's so important for those who are grandparents for the first time or those of you who eventually will have grandchildren that SADLY there will come a time when your grandchildren will reach a certain age where hanging around with Grandpa and Grandma is NO LONGER cool! Dylan is reaching that age where being in 6th grade, going to school dances and hanging with friends is top priority in his life. It does NOT mean that he no longer loves us, it just means that he's growing and wanting to do more things with peers his own age.

Soooooooo my family on these boards I just wanted to share some experiences David and I have been blessed with over the years so that you will know and understand that these gifts/blessings truly love us but will also reach an age where they need to beable to grow in their social lives and you need NOT feel slighted or sad because when they do come to visit their love, hugs and kisses (which they turn away and wipe off because it's no longer cool) still feel wonderful.

Hope everyone's day is GREAT and will get back on later as I ready the spare room for Dylan's visit so he can get out all the toys he feels he's to old to play with. LOL It's so much fun to watch him pretend that he's too old to play with army men or the cowboys and indians I keep in a special place just for him. HeeHeeHee

Hi Jodi,
We're having a heat wave today, too. It's 45° - finally! It's been below zero every morning. Hopefully the worst is over.

My grandchildren are 4½, 4, 3, and 1 - wonderful ages. I hate to think of the day when they will no longer be excited to see grandma and grandpa, but I know it will eventually come. DD#2 told me that last week when they were at a wishing pond, her daughter's wish was that "grandma was here." It makes your heart melt. I'm cherishing every moment.

Here's a recent picture of my daughters and their children. You have no idea what it took to get four children age four and under to sit still for this picture.

Hi Gloria:

Your grandchildren are adorable. And yes I can imagine how hard it was to try and capture that photo.
Here is one that was taken about 3 yrs ago and you will beable to tell that Little Miss Bailey was in "tear". There was NO WAY she wanted anything to do with getting her photo taken. All she wanted was for Gramma (me) to hold her. OMG! We had a mess. I felt so sorry for the photographer at Wal-Mart. We only had one pose to choose from because Bailey was having a real fit. LOL

Bailey's eyes look like someone beat her they were all puffy and red. Giggle Haven't been able to get all 4 of them together since then.

Please don't miss understand my post. Your grandchildren will always love you and be glad to see you it's just that once they reach those pre-teen years they seem to want to spend more time with kids their own age instead of going to Grandma and Grandpa's.

Tonight we have Dylan with us and we are having a good time with him. Infact he took over the computer until now so I'm answering some of my mail and then I'm going to get off and let him play some games for awhile before we all go to bed.

Have to be up early in the a.m. because Bailey is coming tomorrow while Mommy and Daddy work and tomorrow is dance class so I get to take her and watch her dance. Hee hee hee

That's a great picture of your beautiful grandchildren, and I understand that it took effort. If you look closely at my picture, my one granddaughter is crying, too. She hates having her picture taken.

I understand what you were writing; it's just a change in their interests. In the meantime, I'm enjoying their undivided attention.

Have fun with Dylan and Bailey.

Gloria:

The oldest Grand-daughter in the back is Erica Renee and she will be 21 in July, also in the back is my oldest Grand-son; Brett David and he will be 17 in April. In the front row of course crying her heart out is Bailey Elizabeth and she will be 5 in March. Last but not least in the front row is Dylan Robert who will be 12 in April.

David and I have truly been blessed. Infact on Monday, Feb.9th we will be celebrating our 35th Wedding Anniversary.

Here is a photo of our 3 children; Renee Ann, Kara Ann and William Robert.

Pretty good looking kids if I could say so myself. LOL

Your daughters are very beautiful and their children just add to their beauty.

I love the picture of your three children. They are all very attractive; you have a right to be proud.

Congratulations on your upcoming 35th wedding anniversary! That's quite an accomplishment these days. I hope you plan on having a nice celebration.

David and I will probably just have a nice quiet day here at home. It's pretty hard for David to get out when the weather is bad. So I will come up with something special for dinner and maybe go pick up a movie to watch later in the evening.
