I think I am a *D* magnet, lol!

Well, the dog is still having on-again off-again D issues. I really don't want to pay the vet to run any more tests which show nothing. He's fine for a few days, then has issues again - who knows? He acts/eats fine and at 8.5 months is weighing 70 lbs - which seems right for a lab. He still eats 3x/day and poops about that often - it's just much easier to pick up when it's firm. He still picks up random junk to eat, which certainly doesn't help! I hosed one D pile on the back lawn and I saw chunks of the bark chips we have in the yard  I'll probably try a food change next - maybe use reverse logic - he's eating $$ pet store food - maybe a cheaper brand would agree with him better? All I know is the pet store people say avoid corn, and that was a main ingredient in the Rx food the vet had him on which firmed things right up - I guess dogs' guts are as individual as ours!

A fellow kindy mom who knew I have gut issues asked me about some symptoms she was having - they all had strep over the holidays - I told her to ask to be tested for c-diff! She had never heard of it, but felt like something was wrong - sure enough she had it - she is so grateful I told her what to ask to be tested for!

So that' s all the D in my life! Ha - it's been a challenging 2009 thus far - my kids have gotten sick one after another - there is a headlice epidemic @ school and my daughter caught it - I almost lost my *mind* dealing with that!! So disgusting - I can easily see how a person becomes OCD after that experience!! We're in a precarious employment situation - I worry most about the health insurance, of course! Fingers crossed we can ride it out, or find something more stable (a tall order in the current climate!) so hanging in and trying not to worry too much - it's healthier, and worry never solves anything anyways!

Be well my friends,

Mary

DD#1 figured out on her own that her dog couldn't handle gluten!

The food she feeds him now has a really weird name. I'll be glad to ask her if you'd like.
