I'll be traveling soon

Post by starfire »

Well, it looks like my son is going to be able to haul a bunch of stuff up to Pa for me in anitcipation of myself and Mom moving up there sometime next year. The job interview he had for the 20th was cancelled because the job itself was cancelled. It was for the VA and they have to cut back. They asked him to keep looking for openings though because they were quite impressed with his resume.

Anyway, he is happy that he gets to make a trip "home" for a week or so and Mom's happy that I don't have to get rid of so much "stuff" that I don't really want to get rid of. He has a truck and a trailer that will hold lots of "stuff". Haha

Now it looks like I might be leaving a few days sooner than I thought so I'm in a panic to get everything done here. HaHa

He will drive out here from Pensacola either Thursday or Friday. Will take a day to load the trailer and rest some then we'll start out for Pa. We won't be following each other closely because that is very stressfull - trying to stay with another vehicle - but we'll be talking via cell phones and will know where we are in relation to one another.

I'm really looking forward to this trip and spending some time up there.

Don't know how much time I'll be on the "net" so just letting you all know.

Shirley,

That's great that your son will be able to help you move all that "stuff". I hope all the packing, and the trip itself, of course, goes as smoothly as possible.

I agree with you that trying to travel in tandem with another vehicle is very stressful, and dangerous. Cell phones can sure make life a lot easier, in a situation like that.

Now I have to gripe a little. I'm not a vet, but IMO, the last place the government should be cutting funds, is at the VA. Despite the fact that vets are the only reason why we are able to live in a free country, and why we don't have to worry about terrorist attacks, every time we walk down the street, vets have always been handed a raw deal from our government, on their hospital and health care. That really sucks.

Sorry, I realize that's irrelevant to your post, but sometimes my fingers won't stop typing when they should.

Love,
Tex

I'm trying not to get started on that subject too but you didn't say anything that I haven't said and thought before with more added.

Thank You, Shirley

Morning Shirley,

Good luck on a safe trip and you are so lucky to have your son hauling the goods back for you. Traveling in tandem is a pain and even though I don't own one - don't want a bill - cell phones are the way to go.

I TOTALLY agree with Tex's comments on the VA and vets. Where would we be without them.

Welcome back to PA. Sure would like to get to visit you this summer while you are home but with Frank's work schedule that would be slim to no.

Love, Maggie

I also agree about the vets. They risk their lives for our freedom. The last thing we should do is cut VA funding.
