Polly,

That was my first thought, too - why didn't you pick a difficult language, while you were at it?

 Nothing like a good challenge to keep the brain healthy and alert.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hiya you two!

HAHAHAHA....chow mein! Sis, you are a hoot! And Tex, YESSS, I'm hoping that this will help stave off Alzheimer's. LOL!

Actually, some things about Chinese are easier than English. There are no verb tenses or plural words. Also, you can do OK only knowing 2000-3000 characters, where most languages require at least double that number of words, I think. I can now draw the characters for you, good, again, see, thanks, and no and use.

What's harder are sounds. There are 4 different ways a single word (like "ma") can be pronounced. And each one has a different meaning. And the differences in pronunciation are very slight - you have to really pay attention.

Love,

Polly

Polly, So sorry to hear about the Mom's and Rusty. My sister is going through a similar situation with her 15 year old black lab. She (the lab) is on prednisone and morphine to control the pain and allow her to get up on her own. Otherwise, she is healthy.

Happy Birthday,
Katy
